Taking apart a Flip Ultra 30
Posted on July 27th, 2009 2 commentsThe Flip camera is great and cheap enough to risk destroying it. Broken down to its bare bones, it is still a little bigger than its predecessor, the Pure Digital One-use camera. However, the built in USB port and connector, and the ability to connect the Flip to a PC without needing the hack it to access stored videos, makes it more useful in the long run. In short, a great camera for projects that need small, light, durable video recording hardware.

Hi! I just found this video and it is really good. Not easy to find a step-by-step video that is clear.
I had a question: have you been able to figure out how to splice in a stereo mini jack for adding and external microphone? I wanted to create one so that I can use a mic to boost audio performance a little bit.
Thanks!

First thanks for saving me the ripping apart my Flip…I want to find a way to increase memeory and am looking for the flash memeory in the hope it is a micro card..
Is it board sodered in? Bottom line is 1 hour is not much when you want to set the Flip down and record so I was thinkingmemopry was the limiting factor.
Any experiances here?
Thanks the video was very helpful upp to my further questions
Gregg
